Suspension

Sara Moreno López

Area lead

Defines how the car responds when the driver asks something of it: the geometry that keeps all four tyres working and the load distribution that decides whether the car holds or slides. The area moves from simulation to the track and returns with data that changes the design.

Chassis

Emiliano Narváez

Area lead

Designs and welds the structure that carries every other system and protects the driver. Each tube answers a regulatory requirement before it answers a design preference. The rest is geometry, welding and verification.

Powertrain

Eduardo López

Area lead

Converts stored energy into traction: motor, transmission and every mount that ties them to the chassis. This is where high-voltage engineering and mechanical design have to coexist without either one giving way.

Electronics

Susana Fang

Area lead

Builds the nervous system of the car: low-voltage circuits, the safety systems the electrical regulations demand, and the data acquisition that tells the team what actually happened on each lap.

Steering

Daniel Santiago Cepeda

Area lead

Resolves the only direct connection between the driver's hands and the pavement. The objective is precision and honest feedback: the wheel has to tell the truth about what the front axle is doing.

Brakes

Alejandro González

Area lead

Designs the system that stops the car and tests it until no doubt remains. It is one of the few subsystems where failure admits no nuance: it passes technical inspection or the car does not run.

Works the air the car has to move through: wings, floor and bodywork. The area iterates in CFD and weighs every gain against what it costs to manufacture and the mass it adds to the vehicle.

Marketing

Mercy Álvarez

Area lead

Communicates the work of the team. Maintains the brand, the social channels and the material Tec Racing uses to present itself to partners, to the campus and to prospective members.

Administers the season budget and maintains the Cost Report, which in Formula SAE is not an accounting formality but a scored competition category judged in person.

Logistics

Ensures everything arrives on time: suppliers, imports, tooling, workshop and transport of the car to each event. Without this area the manufacturing calendar is an intention rather than a date.

Maintains the project schedule and the dependencies between areas, so that the start of manufacturing is a date on a calendar rather than an aspiration.

Social Responsibility

Vanessa Alejandra Mecott

Area lead

Runs Motores de Ideas, the team's social service programme within Tecnológico de Monterrey. Members teach hands-on engineering sessions at public secondary schools across the region, using the car and its subsystems to show students what engineering actually looks like.

Join the team

Tec Racing recruits every semester. Prior experience is not required; following through on what you start is.

    Applied engineering

    Classroom theory becomes a part that someone will manufacture and that has to work. The feedback is not a grade: it is the car running, or not running.

  2. 02

    Multidisciplinary work

    Twelve areas share one vehicle. You will negotiate space, mass and budget with students from other degree programmes every week.

  3. 03

    Industry exposure

    Our partners are manufacturing, software and welding companies. Working alongside their engineers is part of the normal operation of the team.

  4. 04

    Technical and management skills

    CAD, simulation, manufacturing and validation, but also budgeting, scheduling and supplier management. The team administers itself.

  5. 05

    International competition

    The work is evaluated by judges who work in the industry, against teams from across the continent.

  6. 06

    A project you can point to

    You leave with a complete vehicle you worked on and decisions you can defend in an interview.
